Somizi posted a clip of Melanie Rice’s comments on Instagram, and encouraged his white followers to listen to it
Stars Somizi, Atandwa Kani and Nyaniso Dzedze have adulated e.tv’s Melanie Rice via online media this week for shouting out about white benefit and the current shock over a Clicks commercial for African hair.
We regularly look to the media for the responses to squeezing questions, and this week anchorperson Melanie utilized her foundation to talk about the shock over an advert on the Clicks site that circulated around the web.
The advert, which named African hair as dry and harmed and white hair as fine and level, started shock the nation over.
In a video shared broadly via online media, Melanie thought about why she felt the shock was justified.
“I’ll reveal to you why I think this story has a place in the features. Consistently I am reminded through mainstream society and through my condition that my whiteness matters, that it is seen, that it is acknowledged and it is regarded. I have consistently worked in a domain of decent variety. A significant number of my white companions don’t. Many live in air pockets of benefit.
“The discussions and fellowships I am special to have, have made me mindful of the day by day microaggressions that are raised on ethnic minorities constantly. That accepted and inappropriate quality of prevalence that is managed over you in view of your skin shade can be unpretentious, however it is all over the place,” said Melanie.
Celebs commended the commentator for dropping a few realities.
Somizi posted a clasp of Melanie’s remarks on Instagram, urging his white adherents to hear it out.
Atandwa imparted Somizi’s post to applauding emoticons, while Black Is King star Nyaniso stated: “This lady is talking fire! Much obliged to you Melanie Rice.”
